The Ohio Pet License Plate is a specialty plate that will help raise
funds to be used for spay and neuter to prevent pet overpopulation and
for education that supports the benefits of sterilization.
The Ohio Pet Fund will offer grant applications to nonprofits including
humane societies, rescue organizations, and veterinary associations.
Animal shelters will also receive funding for spay/neuter. Through these
organizations, the Ohio Pet Fund will assist limited income families
with the cost of surgery for spay/neuter.

Central Ohio Good Shepherds (COGS) #157 the Columbus Ohio chapter of Therapy Dogs International, is a volunteer group organized to provide qualified Therapy Dogs and their handlers for visitations to institutions, facilities, and other locations where needed in the Columbus Metropolitan area.
The primary objective of a certified Therapy Dog and handler is to provide comfort and companionship by sharing the unconditional love a dog offers.
This is done in a way that increases emotional well being, promotes healing, and improves the quality of life for the people being visited and the staff that cares for these people.

This fun, family-friendly event runs from 6pm-9pm on the 4th Friday of August and features the Best on the Street Dog Show, the Mutt March and displays set up by dog rescue groups. In addition, participating Uptown shops offer extended shopping hours, arts and crafts vendors sell a wide variety of items and services, and food. There are also children's activities and musical performances.

BARK AT THE BLUES

the Friends of Alum Creek Dog Park, the group that built, maintains and financially supports the Alum Creek
Dog Park, a place where dogs can run, swim and play. You'll have a chance to win a gift certificate from
Acme Canine. Current fundraising efforts will support installation of lights to allow evening use of the
dog park. The dog park is near the Alum Creek Marina.
Howl o Ween: second Sunday in October
Pets love being the center of attention and the staff at ACME canine just felt Halloween is a great
time to promote obedience through games like Tic Tac Dog and Musical Canines and Chairs.
Activities like Bobbing for Balls, and Pawprint painting will have our favorite four-legged
friends howling a good time. Pumpkin decorating, corn hole, and a tasty spread of fall fare
should please our two-legged friends as well. There's even a Scavenger Hunt to encourage
tricks and commands. This event is only available to ACME canine clients and guests. Please visit the

National Dog Week

This local work is truly important because this is a national project
and the dogs should be honored in every city, village and town. There
