The Captain Haggerty -Dog Professionals Conference Scholarship Program

The IACP is once again offering the Captain Haggerty Dog Professional Conference Scholarship!

If you know any young adults that have an interest in dogs and would like to attend the annual International Association of Canine Professionals conference at no charge, this opportunity is for them!

Scholarship Program Rules:

  • Anyone may enter that are between the ages of 18-25 years old. Previous winners are not applicable for entry.
  • A 500-600 word essay is to be written by the applicant on `Why they would like to attend the IACP Annual Educational Conference’, which should include their dog experience, if any, and the goals they hope to obtain within the field of “dogs”.
  • Submissions must be RECEIVED no later than June 8th, 2019.
  • All submissions will be forwarded to the Captain’s daughter Babette Haggerty, who will review all essays and announce a winner no later than June 22nd, 2019. This will allow approximately 8 weeks for travel plans to be arranged by the recipient.

The ‘winners’ will be given a free admission and lunch to the entire IACP Annual Educational Conference, and up to a $1000.00 stipend toward travel arrangements and hotel expenses.

This program will not only support and expose young adults to the IACP, but it will also show them some of the wonderful opportunities they can have to work with dogs.
